Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara Goes All Out for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Our offices went pink on October 18, 2019 and hosted the local non-profit, AJ’s Comfort Zone, Inc. The organization purchases specially designed comfort garments for survivors of breast cancer and those who have received mastectomies or other treatments. As a cancer survivor, Kimberly O’Meara has a special relationship to the organization, and spoke about their mission to give every patient in the local hospital a SOFTEE® TWO shirt or other compression garment, and a comfort bag.

Across our many locations, we raised money for AJ’s and promoted breast cancer awareness.

Below are some of the stats we shared:

  • A woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 2 minutes
  • A woman dies from breast cancer every 60 seconds
  • 1 in 8 women in the United States will face breast cancer
  • Internationally, breast cancer is the leading cause of death for women

While these stats look grim, early intervention is key for survival.

Making a Difference

In the U.S. alone, there are over 3.5 million cancer survivors.

Our educational efforts really do save lives, and our fundraising and support improve the quality of life for the largest network of breast cancer survivors in the world.

Every month, AJ’s Comfort Zone, Inc. is able to give out 20 comfort bags per month to post-op cancer patients at the Los Robles Hospital Breast Cancer Center in Thousand Oaks, CA.
